From the Administrator
Thank you for your interest in Community Christian School. We are thankful to be able to provide a Christ-centered environment where students can thrive both spiritually and academically. Here at CCS, staff and students alike strive for excellence, knowing that we experience the fullest life possible when we are giving our best to God and to those He calls us to serve.
Our highly qualified and dedicated teachers have chosen to teach at Community Christian School because of their love for God and His children. Because our teachers believe in maintaining and increasing their skills to help them be the very best, all teachers participate in 60 hours of professional development each year.
CCS offers a rigorous curriculum including literacy, math, social studies, science and Bible. We also offer physical education, music, art, health and drama. Our classes at Community Christian School have a small student-teacher ratio, which allows students to receive individualized attention. Teachers assess students’ progress both formally and informally during the school year. In the spring, students in all grades are given the SAT 10 test. Community Christian School students score well above the national average on these annual tests.
At Community Christian School, we place an emphasis not only on teaching our students’ minds, but also on touching their hearts. We give our students opportunities to serve our community and others around the world, putting biblical principles to use in practical ways. For example, this year:
• CCS students help serve at the Main Street Mission where they have a hands-on
experience helping needy families in our area. Our students tour the mission, distribute
groceries and assist the families in need there.
• Our students and their families donate to Operation Christmas Child. The students
collect items such as small toys, hard candy, brushes and socks. They fill shoeboxes
with the items, which are then shipped to needy children all across the world.
• We hold a school-wide Walk-in-Love Walk-a-Thon each year and donate the
proceeds to help provide necessities and medical care to people in disaster areas and
impoverished countries around the world.
At CCS, we are proud of our students’ growth, both academically and spiritually. Our desire is that they will grow to become leaders who are ready and willing to make a difference—in their families, in their communities, in our nation and potentially in our world—whenever and however they can.
Please don’t hesitate to call us or visit our website to find out how you and your child can thrive at Community Christian School.
In Christ,
Rebecca Partain, Principal
